The RTN is my HO Model Railroad, currently under construction.
At some point I would like to have regular, maybe monthly, work sessions in order to keep progress moving.
If you have any interest in visiting or helping out with a work session, email me here.
The story behind the RTN:
The RTN is a fictional regional railroad that is too cheap and too poor to own much of its own motive power and/or rolling stock with the exception of some MOW equipment and a few aged switchers. As a result, the road gives trackage rights to, and leases equipment from a number of railroads, primarily the PRR.
The layout depicts the RTN’s Sediment Division, located in north central Pennsylvania. The primary customer is the Sedimentary Rock and Dirt Company(SRD).
In business since the Stone Age, SRD is a producer of shale, limestone, and well, dirt(fill). SRD is known regionally by it’s catchy slogans; “Building the Future with Rocks and Dirt” and “We’re NOT Sedentary at Sedimentary”. SRD operates a few pieces of equipment for switching cars in and out of it’s mining operations.
The under-populated ‘town’ of Sediment Pennsylvania is adjacent to the SRD mine.
Construction photos and other info coming soon.
